U.S.S. Cairo
with ghosted framework.
A museum building is to the right (out of sight). The history of the ship is presented along with a fascinating display of artifacts brought up along with the wreck. The U.S.S. Cairo was sunk by a Confederate torpedo [a mine].

Starboard side forward showing railroad iron shielding

Inside the forward superstructure showing forward-pointing cannons and the capstan and its gears. The light-colored beams are a ghosted framework.

Port engine and what's left of the paddlewheel (which was housed internally).
